San Francisco 49ers vs Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl Preview
The 49ers and Chiefs were favoured to make the Super Bowl before the season started, and they haven’t let punters down.
The Chiefs didn’t look good throughout most of the year, but when it comes down to the crunch, they are the best team under pressure.
Mahomes continues to play at an elite level, and although he has 14 interceptions, he doesn’t have the same offensive weapons as he used to.
Despite not having a genuine all-star receiver, barring tight-end Travis Kelce, Mahomes and the running backs continue to get the job done.
Their defence can’t be overlooked after holding the Baltimore Ravens to 10 points and the Buffalo Bills to 24 points in a shootout.
However, slowing down the 49ers’ offence isn’t easy. They scored 34 points when coming from behind to beat the Detroit Lions, and the pairing of Brock Purdy and Christian McCaffrey are playing excellently.
Our only worry about the 49ers are the teams they’ve beaten in the playoffs. They defeated the Packers and Lions by three points respectively. The Chiefs defeated the Dolphins, Bills, and Ravens, who were three of the strongest teams in the NFL.

We would have had the Super Bowl odds the other way around, so we’re taking the $2.10 for the Chiefs.
They might not look as impressive on paper as the 49ers, but Mahomes and Coach Reid know how to win the Super Bowl, something the 49ers don’t know how to do.
We haven’t been overly impressed with the 49ers during the playoffs, struggling to beat teams they should have easily handled. Therefore, we think the wrong team is favourite for the Super Bowl on Monday.
Most of the money has come for the 49ers at +1.5, and although we could take the Chiefs +1.5 at $1.92, we’re happy to back them straight up at the better price.
Look for the best quarterback in the NFL to have his way with the 49ers defence, giving the Chiefs a rare consecutive Super Bowl title.
There is also value with the Chiefs halftime/fulltime, which carries more risk, but the odds are generous. We expect the Chiefs to start fast and never look back.

There are many solid picks for first touchdown scorer, but we’re going with Travis Kelce.
The Chiefs’ tight end has been excellent in giving Mahomes an option in the middle of the field, and he could cross for the first touchdown.
We have no doubt the cameras will cross to girlfriend Taylor Swift approximately 100 times throughout the Super Bowl, so Kelce scoring first would make for great TV.
Kelce is the $9.25 third favourite behind McCaffrey and Isiah Pacheco. The running backs are expected to start the game well, but the $4.80 odds for McCaffrey are too short.
There is much better value with Kelce, who is also $2.12 to score a touchdown at any time.

Mahomes is the $2.25 favourite to win Super Bowl MVP, and it’s tough to look past the Chiefs’ quarterback.
It might not have been his best year to date, but the Chiefs would be a terrible team without him, and he’ll have the biggest impact for the Chiefs on this game.
On the second line of betting is Purdy, who gets helped by a superb receiving team. We don’t think Purdy is much chance of winning the award, and if the 49ers win, it’s likely to be McCaffrey at $3.75.
