NRL Round 14 – Expert Betting Tips & Odds

round-10-nrl-tips3

Round 14 kicks off this Thursday night with the second Grand Final rematch for 2017. A great weekend of Rugby League is in front of us as players will state their claims for State of Origin Selection once again. It’s exciting to see Billy Slater in this predicament, further fuelled by their opposition who are set to name their four New South Wales origin stars. Two other highly anticipated games will feature on Saturday afternoon, when the Titans take on the Warriors and the Panthers host the Raiders.

Round 14

Sharks $1.90 v Storm 1.90

The last time these two sides met was in Round 6, with the Sharks taking victory in a tough fought battle 11 – 2.  The Storm have worked hard since and currently sit as outright leaders of the competition. The Sharks are sitting comfortably in second place and a win here could elevate them to the top spot. With this game being Billy Slaters’ second audition for origin redemption, expect a big performance. Storm by 4

Sea Eagles $1.21 v Knights $4.45

The Knights could be considered the most consistent poor performers of the competition, conceding on average 28 points per game. To add to the Knight problems this week, they have been unsuccessful in every away game in 2017. Daley Cherry-Evans is playing some of the best footy of his career at present, has a guided the Sea Eagles back to a top 8 position. Credit must also go to big Marty Taupau, whose damaging runs and intimidating defence has allowed the Sea Eagles player makers to leave their mark. Sea Eagles by 16

Broncos $1.26 v Rabbitohs $3.90

The Rabbitohs will be fresh heading into this Match after a week off. In their last match against the Eels, the Rabbitohs didn’t start playing until the second half narrowly going down by 6 points. The Broncos are still nursing their Origin hangover, losing their past two games on the trot. The Broncos are expected to name a full strength side this weekend and will be keen to get back on their winning run. Broncos by 14

Titans $1.71 v Warriors $2.14

With both teams coming off Round 13 losses, they will be hungry to get back in the winner’s circle this week. Last time these 2 teams met the Warriors game away victors in a high scoring contest that saw a total match score of 50 points. The Warriors are known for their entertaining style of play, though vowed after last week’s loss to the Eels, to find a balance.  The Titans only managed to score once against the Cowboys last weekend and went down by 12 points. If the Warriors can find the balance in play they’re looking for they should win this weekend. Warriors by 12

Panthers $1.82 v Raiders $1.99

The played in a tough golden point loss last weekend to the Sea Eagles. Jordan Rapana once again caused havoc down his right edge scoring two of the Raiders 3 Tries. The Panthers will take a lot of confidence out of their 38 – 0 over the Bulldogs and showed they are capable of playing outstanding rugby league. This will be a tight contest, though I believe the young Panthers outfit will too good for the Raiders. Panthers by 10

Eels $1.90 v Cowboys $1.90

The last time these 2 sides played the Eels claimed a 26 – 6 victory, they outplayed and out enthused a struggling Cowboys side. The Cowboys have since seemed to of settle in to life without Jonathon Thurston, beating the Titans by 12 last weekend. The Eels beat the Warriors in a high scoring match 32 – 24 and would have to tighten their defence this week if they want any chance of beating the Cowboys. This game will be a tough one and a victory here to the Eels could see the two side swap positions on the ladder. I think the Cowboys defence will be too good and have the ability to score enough points to win. Cowboys by 8

 Tigers $3.85 v Roosters $1.26

The Tigers have only managed to win 3 games so far this season (1 at home) and currently sit second last on the competition ladder. They put in a gritty performance against the Dragons, though were unable to claim the prize. The Roosters had a tough match against the Broncos and claimed a tight 18 – 16 win. The Roosters got off to a good start and had kept the Broncos to only 6 points for the match until the 74th minute, allowing them to come with in a kick of a Golden Point show down. The Roosters will welcome back Mitchell Peirce this weekend after being ruled out for the Broncos match due to an origin head knock. The Roosters will be too god for the Tigers across the park and will win comfortably. Roosters by 18

Bulldogs $2.62 v Dragons $1.50

The Bulldogs did not manage to score a point against the Panthers last Sunday and missed the go forward of inspirational captain James Graham. The Dragons had a tough fought victory over the Tigers with Gareth Widdop taking full advantage of his opportunities early scoring both of the opening tries in his return from injury. The Dragons may be without Tyson Frizell this weekend, a tough man to replace though I believe they can get the Job done. Dragons by 10
