2017/18 NFL Week 9 Betting Picks & Odds

nfl week 9 betting picks 2017

We’re eight weeks through the NFL season and there are only a few teams are putting their hand up as genuine Super Bowl contenders.

Two of them face off this week when the Kansas City Chiefs face the Dallas Cowboys on Monday morning, which caps off a busy morning in America’s most popular betting sport.

Another great game is set to kick off round nine with the in-form Bills going downstate to face the Ney York Jets. That game should attract big interest with punters and it could set up for a big week in the NFL.

Friday 3/11/17

11:25am New York Jets vs. Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills are travelling nicely at 5-2 after beating the Oakland Raiders last start.

The same can’t be said for the Jets which fell to 3-5 after losing three straight games. Losses to the Patriots, Dolphins and Falcons may have come by only 15 points collectively, but the losses have done their season no good.

Bills’ fans are confident about this season with Tyrod Taylor at quarterback and running back LeSean McCoy is doing enough to see them win again on Friday afternoon.

5:00am Tennessee Titans vs. Baltimore Ravens

The Titans have found a mid-season resurgence, but is it false hope?

Always a team to underachieve, the Titans have rebounded after two consecutive losses with wins over the Colts and the Browns. The records of those two teams is woeful, but it should give the Titans plenty of confidence at home this week.

It was a 40-0 win for the Ravens against the Dolphins last week so confidence issues won’t be a problem for the potential playoff side.

They seemingly handle teams that don’t run the ball and that should lead to a Ravens victory this week.

5:00am New Orleans Saints vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Not expected to be overly great this year, the New Orleans Saints are exceeding expectations.

The Saints are at 5-2 after winning their fifth straight game and they have accounted for the likes of Green Bay, Detroit and Carolina during that stretch.

Drew Brees is having a great year, despite throwing four interceptions, but opposing QB Jameis Winston isn’t faring so well.

He’s in doubt for this game after scoring only three points last week and a big change is needed if the Buccaneers are going to score their first away win of the year.

Betting tip: Saints –7 @ $1.96 (BET NOW)

5:00am New York Giants vs. L.A. Rams

The reason continues to go from bad to worse for the Giants, which suspended cornerback Janoris Jenkins earlier this week.

After falling to 1-6 following a loss to the Seahawks, the Giants will be hoping the bye week did them some good, but the Rams also come into this well-rested and with a 33-0 win under its belt.

The Rams have lived up to expectations so far this season, improving to 5-2 with a thrashing of the Cardinals two weeks ago and another win looms here.

Betting tip: Rams –3.5 @ $1.91 (BET NOW)

5:00am Philadelphia Eagles vs. Denver Broncos

The Eagles are possibly the best team in the NFL at the moment and the Broncos are just struggling to keep their heads above water.

Broncos’ management doesn’t know which quarterback to go with after suffering its third consecutive loss, but the Eagles have no such worries.

Improving to 7-1 on the season following a 33-10 win over the 49ers, the Eagles are high flying this season and are looking like a Super Bowl contender.

They are known to let the foot off the gas pedal as the playoffs approach, but this Broncos team is too beat up to pose a real challenge.

Betting tip: Eagles –8.5 @ $1.87 (BET NOW)

5:00am Carolina Panthers vs. Atlanta Falcons

Both the Panthers and Falcons got their seasons back on track with wins last week.

The Panthers won 17-3 over the Buccaneers in a dominating display and the Falcons out-gunned the Jets in a close contest.

Carolina was clearly the better team, but they’re inconsistencies have frustrated punters so far this season. The 5-3 record should be much better, but they may have found their rhythm with the win last week.

It’s hard to line up the form of the Falcons, but they have been disappointing as a whole, so we’ll stick with the home side.

Betting tip: Panthers to win @ $1.87 (BET NOW)

5:00am Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Cincinatti Bengals

The Jaguars got a well-deserved rest last week after dismantling the Colts 27-0 the last time they played.

After suffering a poor loss to the Rams, the 4-3 Jaguars got their season back on track, but consistency is something that has plagued their season.

They have yet to record consecutive wins, but that could be achievable against the Bengals this week, which struggled past the Colts 24-23 last week.

The only quality win the Bengals own came over the Bills four weeks ago, but they haven’t improved since.

Betting tip: Jaguars –4 @ $1.90 (BET NOW)

5:00am Houston Texans vs. Indianapolis Colts

DeShaun Watson is looking like a Rookie of the Year contender for the Texans, but without their defensive stars, can they progress to the playoffs?

Fortunately for the Texans this week, they play the 2-6 Colts – which have yet to get an away win.

They almost defeated the Bengals last week, but that’s a game they could and should have won. The Texans lost 41-38 to the Seahawks on the final play of the game and that loss is much stronger.

Houston have no problems scoring points and we don’t think the Colts will keep up.

Betting tip: Texans –12 @ $1.89 (BET NOW)

8:00am San Francisco 49ers vs. Arizona Cardinals

There’s not much to get excited about here, but many punters will be hoping the 49ers can get their first win of the season.

So much so, the bookmakers have the 49ers as only slim underdogs against the 3-4 Cardinals. Arizona is trying to rebound after losing 33-0 to the Rams and QB Carson Palmer has almost thrown more intercepts than touchdowns.

Brian Hoyer isn’t much better for the 49ers, but at least they’re at home and with pride to play for.

This is a tough game to call, but the money suggests the 49ers are worth a shot.

Betting tip: 49ers +2.5 @ $1.90 (BET NOW)

8:00am Seattle Seahawks vs. Washington Redskins

The Seahawks scored the win they needed to get their season back on track last week.

The 41-38 win was their fourth in a row, but they hadn’t looked overly convincing up until that point. Now with a four-game winning streak under their belt, a quality win over the Redskins could see them move into Super Bowl contention.

For the Redskins, rebounding after two consecutive losses won’t be easy, but they came against quality teams in Dallas and Philadelphia.

They face another solid defensive team here which isn’t ideal and the Seahawks look strong to keep their perfect home record intact.

Betting tip: Seahawks –7 @ $1.91 (BET NOW)

8:25am Dallas Cowboys vs. Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs are slight favourites in this game and it should be a cracker.

They moved to 6-2 after beating the Broncos 29-19 last week and they could ride that momentum against the Cowboys here.

After losing games to the Rams and Packers, the Cowboys have responded like a team going to the playoffs by beating the 49ers and Redskins convincingly.

They have a losing record at home, but this could be a statement win for the Cowboys, however, the suspension of running back Ezekiel Elliott is a big loss.

The Chiefs don’t make mistakes and the $1.85 is a fair price.

12:30pm Miami Dolphins vs. Oakland Raiders

After beating the Chargers on a last second play, the Raiders came back to earth with a 34-14 loss to the Bills last week.

In a season which hasn’t really left the ground, the Raiders are now in dire straits and a win against the Dolphins is a must.

On the back of a 40-0 drubbing at the hands of the Ravens, Miami will look to get back on track this week. That’s easier said than done for a team that lacks any identity and we’re expecting the Raiders to take advantage of that.

Tuesday 7/11/17

12:30pm Green Bay Packers vs. Detroit Lions

Everyone loves a Lions vs. Packers game, but the shine has been taken away from punters with the loss of Aaron Rodgers.

The Green Bay quarterback is out for the season, which has put the Packers’ season into disarray. Back-to-back losses coming into this has seen their record drop to 4-3 after looking like a Super Bowl contender earlier this season.

The Lions haven’t been much better, losing their last three games and giving up 99 points across those three games.

That doesn’t bode well this week and the Packers could give its new QB a rare win.

Betting tip: Packers to win @ $2.25 (BET NOW)
