The NBL continues to excite fans and punters in Australia.
The National Basketball League enters round six with a raft of top-quality games this week, including the top of table clash between the Breakers and the Wildcats.
What makes this week even better? Both the Breakers and Wildcats go at it again later in the week to see which team will take top billing heading into the business end of the season.

5:30pm New Zealand Breakers vs. Perth Wildcats
The Breakers may have lost their first game of the season, but they haven’t dropped one since.
Taking its record to 6 wins from seven games, the Breakers have looked impressive this season and the imports have performed better than expected.
It’s not about to get easy this week, however, as the two storied franchises of this decade go at it twice.
Perth has won five of its six games to date, losing only to the Taipans in Cairns in round three. That loss wouldn’t have concerned them as they have rebounded in style and they could pose a threat this Thursday.
The bookmakers are giving the slight edge to the Breakers at home in what is expected to be a split home and away series.

7:30pm Cairns Taipans vs. Melbourne United
Melbourne United returned to their brilliant with two wins last week and they’re now a legitimate title contender.
With wins coming over Cairns and Adelaide, United now sit third on the NBL table as they prepare for another game against the feisty Taipans, which need some success.
Cairns started the season well, but a series of losses has the defensive-minded team on the back foot. Some better offence is going to be needed this week, but they might need to score in excess of 100 points.
That’s not going to be easy, but playing at home will help the Taipans.

5:30pm Melbourne United vs. Sydney Kings
United play its second game in three days, but that should help the team which has picked up its form over the last week.
Without knowing the result of their opening game against the Taipans, we’re still predicting United to easily handle the Kings, which are struggling at new levels.
The Kings are sitting on the bottom of the NBL ladder with two wins from eight games – a drastic difference to when they sat at the top of the table this time last season.
It’s not surprising to see United as the short favourites for this game and we can’t see them losing.

7:30pm Adelaide 36ers vs. Illawarra Hawks
It’s been an indifferent season for the 36ers which currently sit at 4-4 on the season to date.
Joey Wright’s men were easily handled by United last week and that came after losing last Thursday to the Breakers by four points.
Their season is going better than the Hawk’s season to date, despite beating the Kings last week. The Hawks improved to three wins from eight games, but there’s something off with this team this season.
Nothing seems to be clicking and the team looks tired.
We’re expecting the 36ers to run and gun this week and force the Hawks to try slow down the potential offence.

3:00pm Brisbane Bullets vs. Cairns Taipans
We have been impressed by the most part of what the Brisbane Bullets have offered up this season.
They currently sit with only two wins from six games, but they could have easily won a few more of those and they still have two games up their sleeve on most teams.
Travis Trice has been impressive at the point guard position and the American import is leading his team into a more successful future.
A little more consistency will be needed to beat the Taipans, which could either be desperate after losing to Melbourne, or full of confidence after beating them.
The Taipans do struggle away from home, not that it’s much travel to Brisbane, but we’re favouring the home side to get a much-needed win.

5:00pm Perth Wildcats vs. New Zealand Breakers
We’re expecting the Breakers to win the first of this two-game series, but Perth should be too tough in the return home.
The Wildcats lift to another level at home in front of a sold-out crowd and it comes as no surprise to see bookmakers favouring them heavily.
That’s no knock against the Breakers which have looked impressive throughout the season, but beating Perth in Perth will be their biggest test of the season.
If they’re able to do it, punters could be seeing the best team in the NBL by some margin, but we’ll stick with the home side on this occasion.
Betting tip: Wildcats to win @ $1.37 (BET NOW)
