The NBL ladder changed significantly last week with the Breakers falling two places to third on the table.
Back on top is the Perth Wildcats and sitting on 11 wins with both the Wildcats and Breakers are Melbourne United, which is starting to find their best form.
The top three positions look sealed up at this stage, but the fourth spot could be taken out by any number of four teams and that should make for an exciting NBL contest.

7:30pm Adelaide 36ers vs. Perth Wildcats @ Titanium Security Centre
The Adelaide 36ers held their fourth-placed spot on the ladder with a gutsy win over the New Zealand Breakers.
Having looked inconsistent throughout the season, the 36ers were able to hold off the fast finishing Breakers to record a 88-85 victory.
That saw them move to nine wins on the season, two behind the Wildcats which also scored a quality win last week.
Cairns are one of the hardest teams to beat at home, but the Wildcats dealt to them with ease with their 83-68 romp.
That’s a bad sign for the 36ers this week, but home court advantage helps and this is an Adelaide team growing in confidence.

7:30pm Cairns Taipans vs. Brisbane Bullets @ Cairns Convention Centre
After starting the season full of promise, the Cairns Taipans have been on the drift over the last few weeks.
Sitting at 8-11 on the season, the Taipans suffered another disappointing loss to the Wildcats last week and scoring only 68 points at home isn’t going to get the job done.
Playing the Brisbane Bullets is going to help their chances, seeing as the fellow Queensland side suffered a loss just as bad.
The Bullets were gathering momentum this season, but the 82-104 loss to the Hawks put them back on the back foot.
The bookmakers have the Taipans as the slight favourites and given their position on the table, this is a must win game for the home side.
Betting tip: Taipans –3.5 @ 1.92 (BET NOW)

5:30pm Sydney Kings vs. Perth Wildcats @ Qudos Bank Arena
Perth play their second away game in three days and that could help the Kings, but they’ll need it.
The addition of Jerome Randle hasn’t helped the Kings as a team, despite the pint-sized point guard scoring over 20 points a game this season.
They were manhandled in the second half by Melbourne after leading at halftime by two points, but the condition gave out in the third quarter.
Perth will likely be reassessed following their Thursday night game, but we’re predicting a pair of victories for the most successful club in the last 10 years.
The Kings are currently around $2.20 in the head-to-head markets, but that’s too short for the NBL’s worst-performing side.

7:30pm Illawarra Hawks vs. Melbourne United @ WIN Entertainment Centre
This is easily the game of the round as two form teams go to battle.
The Hawks have hit top gear with a 104-82 win over the Bullets on New Year’s Eve and they look like the most likely to fill the fourth spot on the ladder in a couple of weeks.
Hitting form at this stage of the season is key and the Hawks have seemingly found their offensive rhythm, but so have United.
Both teams scored over 100 points last week and United was led by insane shooting from Caspar Ware. The American point guard is one of the best spot-up shooters in the league and if he gets going, the Hawks could be in for a long night.
United is still a touch too inconsistent to back with any confidence here.

1:00pm New Zealand Breakers vs. Cairns Taipans @ North Shore Events Centre
The Breakers have looked a little off the last few weeks, but we’re expecting them to get back on track against Cairns this Sunday.
Bookmakers have the Breakers as the most dominating favourite of the week ($1.36) and that’s fair considering they have won 11 games this season.
Recent losses to the 36ers haven’t helped their record, but Cairns are also on the slide and they don’t play well away from home.
With two of the most dynamic American imports in the competition (Sosa and Newbill), the Breakers should be simply too good.
Betting tip: Breakers –6.5 @ $1.91 (BET NOW)

3:00pm Brisbane Bullets vs. Adelaide 36ers @ Brisbane Convention Centre
The odds for this game will likely change with the performance of their first games of the week, but at this stage we’re favouring the Adelaide 36ers.
We know they’re not as good away from home, but we’ll happily take the better than odds-on value for the better side.
Brisbane is coming off a big defeat against the Hawks and returning home will do them some good, but Adelaide are hitting top form and should be too good.
Betting tip: Adelaide @ $2.05 (BET NOW)
