September 2, 2017 – Saturday Horse Racing Tips For Randwick & Caulfield

fuhryk race horse - 2/9/17 horse racing tips

Winx looks set to continue her winning ways this Saturday in the Chelmsford Stakes, but at $1.10 there are better betting opportunities throughout the day at Randwick and Caulfield.

Randwick also hosts the Tramway Stakes, Furious Stakes and the hotly-contested Concorde Stakes where a small field of only six runners will contest for the $150,000 prize.

The Group 1 Memsie Stakes is being run at Caulfield and punters love betting into the big races. Plenty of betting action has come for numerous runners in the 1400m feature, but we believe there’s one standout runner.

All odds are with Sportsbet – our No. 1 rated bookmaker. New signups can claim a $501* bonus bet with Sportsbet by clicking HERE.

Free Tips and Form at Randwick

Race 2. (12:45) National Jockey’s Trust Handicap (2000m)

#8 – Up ‘n’ Rolling @ $2.05 – BET NOW

Up ‘n’ Rolling is a former New Zealand runner which couldn’t have scored any more impressively last time out at Canterbury.

The Chris Waller-trained son of Castledale scored by 3.3 lengths when beating Notio and that has subsequently come out and beaten a handy midweek field. That form should line up well at this level and his form prior was impressive without getting much luck.

His previous start when running second at Canterbury had to be seen to be believed, but jockey Glyn Schofield suffered a suspension for the ride. That didn’t help punters, but solid odds are on offer for this run to get punters off to a winning start at Randwick on Saturday.

Race 4. (14:00) Tab Highway Handicap (1400m)

#3 – Super Star Bob @ $6.00 – BET NOW

The form of Super Star Bob might not be very impressive, but he faces a drop down in class and his recent trial was encouraging.

The four-year-old gelding for Matthew Dale only battled behind Missile Coda at Canterbury last start, but he ran a close sixth behind Argent D’or at Randwick prior to that which followed a win at Canberra.

The son of Mossman has experience winning the Highway Handicap when taking out the provincial feature in January when beating the talented Nic’s Vendetta.

He wouldn’t mind some rain based on its breeding, but with three wins on a good track, any surface will suit and this isn’t the strongest Highway Handicap field we’ve ever seen.

Race 5. (14:35) Concorde Stakes (1000m)

#1 – Redzel @ $3.60 – BET NOW

Redzel comes into this with a good trial performance under his belt and he deserves more attention in the betting markets.

Most of the money has come for Spieth, which carries 4kg less than Redzel, but the five-year-old gelding runs well fresh up with five starts for two wins and two placings and it looks the most forward out of any of these runners.

The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained sprinter loves to roll forward which makes him tough to beat over this distance and he loves running at Randwick. He has won twice here and his most recent run on this track was a win in the Hall Mark Stakes when beating Counterattack by almost a length.

He hasn’t run a bad race this year and punters are getting a good value price for this race.

Race 8. (16.30) Tattersalls Club Tramway Stakes (1400m)

#7 – Invincible Gem @ $4.40 – BET NOW

Four-year-old mare Invincible Gem is the new horse on the scene and its win in the Missile Stakes last time out was stellar.

The Kris Lees-trained runner won three consecutive starts last campaign before running a career-best second in the Randwick Guineas behind Inference. That came on a heavy track over the mile which made its win over 1200m last time out even more impressive.

Rising to the 1400m will suit perfectly for this and despite the hot field, she gets in well on the weights at 55kg and she should have a better turn-of-foot than most of these.

Free Tips and Form at Caulfield

Race 4. (14:15) McNeil Stakes (1200m)

#3 – Trekking @ $3.50 – BET NOW

The James Cummings-trained Trekking put up a good fight against the likes of Menari in the Rosebud Stakes at Rosehill last start and that form should stack up well for this.

The son of Street Cry didn’t fire on a wet track in the Golden Slipper prior to that fresh up effort, but his form prior included a win on debut by 1.5 lengths and the stable has a high opinion of the colt.

He will only get better with time as a three-year-old by Street Cry and the odds are appealing here.

Race 5. (14:50) Cockram Stakes (1200m)

#2 – Fuhryk @ $3.00 – BET NOW

The class act of this field is Fuhryk and the four-year-old mare should return in good order.

She has won five of its nine starts and she has won and placed from three fresh up efforts. The Lindsay Park team should have it ready to fire and the five-time winner at this distance is paying a great price here.

She was good enough to put two lengths on Oregon’s Day in Kevin Hayes Stakes earlier this year before running in the Australian Guineas behind Hey Doc.

The Star Witness four-year-old almost won the Group 1 Euclase at Morphettville and this field looks no harder than that task.

She has drawn perfectly in barrier three and Craig Williams takes the ride.

Race 7. (16:10) Memsie Stakes (1400m)

#5 – Vega Magic @ $2.45 – BET NOW

Vega Magic is the new horse on the scene from the Lindsay Park stables and it brings in consistent winning form.

The former Perth runner was a stunning winner of the Group 1 Goodwood when beating Missrock by almost a length and it followed that win up with another great showing in the Regal Roller.

The five-year-old was able to beat gun Japanese runner Brave Smash at Caulfield earlier this month and that form would stack up well on the world stage.

He has grown another leg in the new stable and we weren’t overly impressed with the trial of Le Romain in preparation for this – likewise the form of Black Heart Bart.
