2024 Ranvet Stakes Form Guide & Tips
(1) Think It Over ($2.90)
He got back to his best form last time out, and although he’s not our top pick, we’re not leaving him out.
He’s a 14-time winner overall, and he’s good enough to hold off the international charge in the Ravnet Stakes.
(2) Military Mission (Best Roughie – $18.00)
Nothing wrong with his third placing fresh up and his form always improves with a run under his belt.
He owns three wins from five second-up starts, and he could show them a clean pair of heels in front.
(3) Buckaroo ($5.00)
Punters are getting frustrated with Buckaroo, but he has been well-backed to win again.
We’re happy to include him in selections with Ryan Moore riding, and the European connection could see his best form return.
(4) Zeyrek ($126.00)
At massive odds and rightfully so. He’s not running well enough to win at Group 1 level.
(5) Bois D’argent ($71.00)
He was well-backed to win last start when running second, but that came against a much easier field.
His lack of turn-of-foot is the big worry, so we’re leaving him out.
(6) Via Sistina (Best Bet – $3.60)
When a European runner is purchased for $5.5 million, take notice. That’s a huge price, she’s a mare, so she wasn’t purchased for a stallion career.
Waller has big things in mind for the daughter of Fastnet Rock, who owns five wins from 13 starts.
McDonald rides, and she’s the talking horse of the race.
(7) Place Du Carrousel (Best Each Way – $9.00)
Another European and she was bought for even more money ($6.6 million).
They are spending up large on the imports and with good reason. The best ones are simply too good for the Australian opposition, so she must be included.
A soft track would have been ideal, but there is some rain about.
(8) Riff Rocket ($5.50)
One of the leading chances in the Rosehill Guineas. Unsure where he will line up, but he’s better off in the Guineas.
Include him if he starts.
