november 7 2017 tuesday horse racing tips

Melbourne Cup day is one of the great sporting occasions in Australia and it all happens this Tuesday at Flemington.

The second day of the Melbourne Cup carnival not only features the Cup, but also nine other great betting fields where punters will be enjoying the great value on offer.

Not only do punters get to see some of the best stayers in the world, but also some of Australia’s rising talent and we’re more excited about Cup day than ever.

We also have some tips for Randwick where the Schweppes Choisir Handicap is the feature, but the main focus is most certainly with Flemington.

All odds are with Sportsbet – our No. 1 rated bookmaker. New signups can claim a $501* bonus bet with Sportsbet by clicking HERE.

Flemington – Melbourne Cup Day free tips & form

Race 1. (11:00) Emirates A380 Handicap (1000m)

#2 – Qafila @ $4.60 – BET NOW

Qafila was an outstanding winner on debut at Caulfield and the stable has a big opinion of the two-year-old.

The Lindsay Park-trained filly scored by under a length in the Debutante Stakes, but it was the manner of the win which had punters licking their lips.

A daughter of Not a Single Doubt, Qafila sat just in behind the speed before finding room in the straight and kicking too well for her opposition.

Bookmakers have nice odds available and punters could cash in.

Race 3. (12:15) Lavazza Short Black R90 (1400m)

#3 – Land of Plenty @ $6.50 – BET NOW

Land of Plenty doesn’t boast the best form line, but there will be smart money coming for the four-year-old.

The son of Stratum has won only once from 13 starts, but he has competed in the Rosehill Guineas and more recently the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes.

He wasn’t too far away from the pace in the Gilgai last start and he should get a good run in transit from barrier two.

Race 5. (13:25) Schweppes Flemington Fling (1000m)

#4 – Madeenaty @ $7.50 – BET NOW

Not much has gone the way of Madeenaty this season, but running back at Flemington should give her every chance to redeem her form.

The three-year-old filly has been out of the winner’s circle for a while now, but with placings behind Crown Witness and Super Too this campaign, that form must be considered.

She has had four starts at Flemington for one win and three placings. That’s a good record and drawing out wide in barrier 11 should allow her to find her feet and hit the line well.

Race 6. (14:25) Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m)

#3 – Counterplay @ $6 – BET NOW

Plenty of money is coming for the Phillip Stokes-trained filly which finished third behind race rival Our Crown Mistress last start.

She will need to turn the tables on the talented runner, but we believe she can. The daughter of Sepoy was back in the ruck at Caulfield last start and only got clear late in the race.

To run the favourite to within a length was a nice effort and she’s going to find a perfect spot behind the leader and the odds for Counterplay are more appealing than Our Crown Mistress.

Race 7. (15:00) Melbourne Cup (3200m)

Race 9. (16:45) MSS Security Sprint (1200m)

#3 – Faatinah @ $6 – BET NOW

Lindsay Park had aspirations of taking this runner to Dubai last start, so there’s plenty of confidence in the camp.

The five-year-old is a winner of four from 21 starts, resulting in over $600,000 in stake money and his effort for third in the Caulfield Sprint last start puts him on top here.

He ran a quick time behind Snitty Kitty over the 1000m, but he’s better suited to this distance where he has won three of his nine attempts.

Drawing out in barrier 12 will help his chances as he doesn’t like being crowded and the $6 is a good value price.

Race 10. (17:20) Hong Kong Jockey Club Stakes (1400m)

#6 – Miss Gunpowder @ $9 – BET NOW

Miss Gunpowder looks the perfect type to run at Flemington and she finally gets her chance.

The five-year-old mare needs time to get going in the straight and having the entire Flemington straight will be a massive advantage.

Her last run came at Moonee Valley where she ran out of time near the line, but that shouldn’t be the case on Tuesday and bookmakers have let her slip under the radar.

She’s a great each way bet at $9 and $3 for the place.

Randwick free tips and form

Race 1. (12:00) Task Retail Maiden (1800m)

#8 – All Too Soon @ $2.65 – BET NOW

Victoria Derby-winning trainer David Payne lines up All Too Soon, which looks a good bet in the first.

The three-year-old filly has placed in three of her five starts and she was putting in the big bounds late behind Warranty last start at Randwick.

She has been knocking on the door this campaign and this looks ideal for the daughter of All Too Hard.

Race 2. (12:35) APN Outdoor Maiden (1200m)

#10 – Epidemic @ $3.50 – BET NOW

James Cummings lines up three-year-old filly Epidemic, which has form around some nice types in Sydney.

The daughter by Lonhro finished fourth in the Pierro Stakes on debut behind group one-placed Champagne Cuddles, before running a close third last start at Canterbury.

There doesn’t appear to be any superstars in this race and we’re expecting the current odds of $3.50 to drop as the race draws nearer.

Race 6. (15:40) McGrath Estate Agents Handicap (1300m)

#4 – Zonk @ $2.60 – BET NOW

Zonk is a progressive four-year-old for Les Bridge which will need some luck from barrier 15, but she’s an adaptable type.

The daughter of I Am Invincible has finished out of the money in only one of her six starts and although she was beaten as a short favourite last start, but that down to second-up syndrome.

This is her first start at Randwick which shouldn’t bother her and she is the clear top pick in the big field.

Race 7. (16:25) Schweppes Choisir Stakes (1100m)

#9 – Tactical Advantage @ $3.90 – BET NOW

Tactical Advantage needed the hit out last start and he strips fitter for this run.

The Joseph Pride-trained four-year-old carried 60.5kg on that occasion and dropping to 51.5kg for this is an incredible advantage.

He has more ability than most of these at even weights, let alone carrying 7.5kg less than the top weighted runner in the field.
