Magic Millions 2YO Guineas Form Guide & Tips
Jonker (Best Bet – $4.80) – BET NOW
Jonker is an unbeaten two-year-old which has spaced his rivals to date.
He scored a three-length win on debut at Newcastle before destroying a handy field at Wyong by 4.3 lengths.
Many punters might have forgotten about that win, but he’s a class act and has drawn to receive all favours.
Ef Troop ($5) – BET NOW
Tony Gollan lines up the Spirit of Boom gelding which is also unbeaten after two starts, but has drawn barrier 18 for its troubles.
He won narrowly on debut at Doomben before beating a field of five by 5.3 lengths. This is a much harder task, but respect its chances with luck.
Quackerjack ($34) – BET NOW
Not easy drawing barrier 19, especially when there’s great speed to your inside.
His last two wins have been good and one of them came at Randwick, but he’d need every ounce of luck to win from out there.
Legislation ($21) – BET NOW
Trainers Peter and Paul Snowden have a good record in juvenile races, but this might be too tough for the colt.
He finished fourth behind Quackerjack last start and as previously mentioned, that’s probably not the best form guide coming into this.
Fullazaboot ($34) – BET NOW
Second at Doomben last start behind Blue Book, but he would have needed to win that to have a chance here.
Tye Angland isn’t riding well enough to be considered from barrier 21 and the odds reflect his chances.
Crockett (Best Rougie $31) – BET NOW
Crockett’s odds have been slashed from $51 to $31 and he’s capable of turning around a poor run at Doomben behind Meryl last start.
The Tony McEvoy-trained colt hasn’t been able to get past a few runners this campaign, but the talent is there and he might have needed time to mature.
Worth a shot at the odds.
Bondi ($18) – BET NOW
Yet to win a race and that’s the concern.
Snowden-trained runner which has been beaten by subsequent winner Lilith and by Jonker, but we’d prepare to see some winning form before suggesting he’s a chance in this.
Sky Ray ($34) – BET NOW
Didn’t let down when sixth behind Quackerjack last start at Randwick and it wasn’t quick enough to catch Jonker on debut.
Odds are too short.
Meryl (Best Each Way – $15) – BET NOW
Finished sixth on debut at Randwick in a tough race before winning at Doomben last start.
That win came over some talented types and the filly might be starting to grow into her body. That’s a sign of things to come and she might escape the bookmakers’ radar.
Secret Lady ($21) – BET NOW
The Gary Portelli-trained filly has a torrent of early speed, but it’s the last 100m that worries.
She was unable to sustain a hot tempo last start at Randwick and the big field might get the better of the smaller-framed filly on this occasion.
Sunlight ($4.20) – BET NOW
She would have easily been our top pick had it not been for the draw.
The McEvoy-trained star is likely to be the best horse in the race, but she has been used to getting soft leads and that’s going to be difficult from barrier 15.
If she can bounce the gates and find the rail, there’s still going to be loads of pressure and her odds are too short for that risk.
Nomothaj ($10) – BET NOW
There has been specking for the Lindsay Park-trained filly which won well at Flemington on debut.
She has since been primed with a trial win at Randwick and it could pay to follow the betting moves with this runner.
It’s a big betting stable and confidence in the market is a telling sign.
Outback Barbie ($23) – BET NOW
Narrow in on debut at Doomben, but she would have to improve and run a quicker time to be a threat here.
She might make a nice Saturday-grade filly, but a win would be surprising here.
Anthemoessa ($26) – BET NOW
Two starts for two placings to date and neither run was inspiring.
That form shouldn’t be good enough for this and the odds are telling.
Witherspoon ($26) – BET NOW
Witherspoon has been costly for punters so far.
The Brad Widdup-trained filly has been beaten in all three starts when well-favoured with bookmakers and it’s hard to see her turning that form around.
Whiskey Shooter ($41) – BET NOW
Nice debut win and it might head forward, but it would need to lift to hold out the chasers.
Chance if Waterhouse has her ready to fire.
Spirit’s Pride ($151)
Sugar Sizzle ($151)
