Golden Eagle Form Guide & Tips
1. Hawaii Five Oh (Best Each Way – $4.20)
He hasn’t won this preparation, but he hasn’t done much wrong either.
His run for sixth in The Everest was good after being caught wide, and he didn’t shirk the task late in the race.
2. Attrition ($34)
A good winner last time out, but this is a different race, and the odds tell the full story.
3. Pericles ($12)
Nothing wrong with his form this preparation, including consecutive wins before placing behind Vienna Princess.
He could enter calculations in a tough race.
4. Golden Mile ($34)
We liked his win three back. Only fair since, and he might be better suited to something a little easier now.
5. Kovalica (Best Roughie – $11)
His effort in the Epsom was great. Dropping in distance is a worry, but he’s running too well to ignore.
Take the double-figure odds.
6. Rediener ($41)
An upset winner two back, but his most recent run was not good. Unlikely to trouble them.
7. Osipenko ($13)
He has mixed his form this preparation after starting his career in consistent form.
We need to see more consistency to include him.
8. Strait Acer ($61)
We would prefer to see him in something much easier. The ability is there, but not against these stars.
9. Communist ($126)
Big odds and he hasn’t come back from a spell with anything.
10. Coin Toss ($126)
Four wins from 10 starts, but as the odds suggest, he’s unlikely to get close.
11. Knight’s Choice ($126)
A little lucky to get in the field. Big odds and we’re not surprised by that.
12. Obamburumai ($10)
Japanese runners are always tough to beat. Three wins from five starts, and his last-start placing looked good.
We can’t leave him out, and he has been specked.
13. New Endeavour ($81)
Disappointing last time out and he would need to find a few lengths on that effort.
14. Age of Kings ($51)
He won at Ascot last time out before joining the Chris Waller stable. He might struggle against this company.
15. Galeron ($126)
Another international runner looking to win the riches. Form doesn’t impress us.
16. Amelia’s Jewel ($4.20)
She didn’t fire in the Toorak, but she’s much better than that. Her class should shine through, and we’re not leaving her out.
17. Ruthless Dame ($23)
We liked her chances last start and she didn’t let us down. This is harder, but a big run wouldn’t surprise us.
18. Legarto (Best Bet – $8)
The Kiwi and Australian Guineas winner is in good form, and she’s our pick to win.
Her form has been stellar throughout her career, and she cruised home to win in New Zealand last time out.
Take the value odds.
19. Vienna Princess ($34)
She comes off two impressive wins, but winning the Golden Eagle could be a step too far.
20. Razeta ($201)
Unlikely to run and unlikely to win.
