Empire Rose Stakes Form Guide & Tips
1. Alcohol Free ($6)
She stuck on well for fourth behind Espiona last week, which followed a poor run in The Everest.
She shouldn’t have run in that race, but she is more suited to Saturday’s conditions, so include the former international.
2. Princess Grace ($6.50)
She has yet to win this prep, but she owns second placings behind the likes of Mr Brightside, who ran second in the Cox Plate.
That form is good for this race, so she can’t be left out.
3. Hope in Your Heart ($8)
Not much went right for her in the Epsom Handicap, but we still don’t know if she’s running well enough to score.
Getting the inside draw helps, and she is a first four chance with space to run.
4. Atishu (Best Each Way – $6)
It could pay to forgive her latest run at Randwick. The former Kiwi was much better two back when placing behind Espiona.
With James McDonald riding, we expect her to be fighting out the finish.
5. Hinged ($23)
Her form has tapered off this season, which has been disappointing to see. We’re unable to include her.
6. Foxy Frida ($31)
Her turn-of-foot to win consecutive races earlier this preparation was good. However, it didn’t come at Group 1 level.
7. Renaissance Woman ($26)
A winner two back at Randwick before placing behind Zeyrek last week.
Talented at her best, and she runs her best races at springtime, so she’s worth including at the price.
8. Barbie’s Fox ($21)
Yet to show much form in eight runs at Flemington, so we’re happy to leave her out of our selections.
9. Wrote to Arataki ($21)
She has good specking to win at Caulfield last start and she didn’t let down punters.
With five wins from 15 starts, she is likely to be around the mark, but the field is so deep, we have to leave her out.
10. Pride of Jenni ($20)
She has yet to win this preparation, and because of the strength of the field, she’s another talented type being left out.
11. Deny Knowledge ($67)
A good winner fresh up but her form since hasn’t measured up. She is better suited to something much easier.
12. Life Lessons (Best Roughie – $17)
Good enough to beat Princess Grace last time out, which is why she’s our best roughie.
She is bred to enjoy this distance and the odds are too good to pass up.
13. Shuffle Dancer ($27)
Better last time out when second, but she needs to lift on that performance.
14. Wishlor Lass (Best Bet – $8)
We have been mightily impressed with Wishlor Lass, and she could rise to another level on Saturday.
After posting six wins from eight starts, she’s a mare with plenty of upside, and we’re backing her to win again.
15. Ausbred Flirt ($34)
Solid form this season, but she might be wanting something a little easier.
16. More Secrets ($26)
Specked at odds after a solid placing. However, we’re taking a risk that she won’t figure in the finish.
17. Jennilala ($51)
A good winner fresh up but Group 1 racing could be too much too soon.
