December 23, 2017 – Saturday Horse Racing Tips For Warwick Farm and Moonee Valley

Considering that there is racing on Boxing Day next Tuesday, we’re surprised to see good sized fields at both Warwick Farm and Moonee Valley.

Punters are getting plenty of racing action over the Christmas carnival and we have picked out our best bets for this Saturday’s meetings in Melbourne and Sydney.

All odds are with Sportsbet – our No. 1 rated bookmaker. You can join Sportsbet by clicking HERE.

Warwick Farm free tips & form

Race 2. (13:20) Tab Handicap (1600m)

#3 – Scream Park @ $2.80 – BET NOW

Chris Waller lines up both favourites in this race, but we’re favouring the inexperienced Scream Park.

Having had just three starts, the three-year-old colt was far too good for his rivals at Warwick Farm last start and that track experience could offset his short three-start career.

Waller has pumped plenty of trial fitness into the son of Ocean Park and he looks ready to take the next step this season.

He handles all track conditions and we think punters might back him into favouritism come Saturday.

Race 3. (13:55) Boxing Day at Randwick Handicap (1600m)

#4 – Cellarman @ $2.80 – BET NOW

Cellarman is drifting in the market after opening at $2.70, but he deserves more respect than that.

The Waller-trained gelding flashed home for third at Rosehill last start behind King Darci and that form should be tops for this.

Rising in distance is only going to help his chances and he’s already a multiple winner at the mile, so expect a good effort and watch for him finishing over the top of them late.

Race 4. (14:30) Highway Handicap (1600m)

#1 – Roseito @ $4.60 – BET NOW

We’re unsure why Roseito has drifted in the market from her opening quote of $4.20, but it means punters will get more value.

The four-year-old mare by Snitzel scored a quality win at Canterbury last start and that’s city-winning form which her opposition doesn’t have.

She does rise in weight for this, which is fair, but the consistent type gets the inside draw to work with and Christian Reith stays in the saddle.

We doubt that her odds will drift out any further, so take the value on offer.

Race 6. (15:40) Hyland Boxing Day Sale (1200m)

#1 – Test the World @ $2.60 – BET NOW

Trainer Bjorn Baker has a nice type on his hands here with four-year-old mare Test the World, which scored a good win last start.

The daughter of Testa Rossa has won six of her 10 starts with four placings and that consistency is what punters love on days like this.

She managed to survive the second-up syndrome by winning last start and that bodes well for the rest of her campaign.

She has winning form on this track in May and we’re confident of another top performance and bookmakers are generous with the odds.

Race 9. (17:40) Australian Turf Club Handicap (1400m)

#3 – Noire @ $3 – BET NOW

After hitting a flat spot last season, Chris Waller has Noire right back on track with consecutive wins this preparation.

The daughter of Foxwedge extended her career record to four wins from eight starts with a win at Rosehill and she did it with something in hand.

This will be her fifth time around the Warwick Farm track having had two race day starts and two trials. That will help her chances and punters are still getting a good price.

Moonee Valley free tips & form

Race 2. (13:55) Odds Boost Exotics Handicap (1500m)

#10 – Pleasuring @ $3.80 – BET NOW

Pleasuring was a scratching from Wednesday’s Melbourne meeting which is a good sign for this.

The three-year-old filly meets a harder field here and she has attracted some early support with bookmakers. After opening at $3.90 she was specked into $3.60 at one stage and she will likely start as the favourite.

Her three placings this campaign have been solid and she looks ready to take the next step and score an overdue maiden win.

Race 5. (15:20) Bertocchi Xmas Masterpiece Handicap (2500m)

#2 – Imperial Aviator @ $2.40 – BET NOW

Imperial Aviator scored an impressive win at Rosehill last start and the Waterhouse/Bott team have brought him to Melbourne.

The four-year-old import by Paco Boy scored an overdue win in Australia last start and he might kick on with it now.

That win came second-up, which is encouraging and punters are confident that he will continue winning on Saturday.

He opened at $2.50 and has had steady support into $2.40. There hasn’t been much money for his opposition and he should get every chance from an inside barrier.

Race 6. (16:00) Powerflo Solutions Handicap (1200m)

#11 – Data Point @ $8.50 – BET NOW

Michael Kent lines up Data Point, which finished out of the money for the first time fresh up last start, but expect improvement.

The five-year-old gelding was coming off a long campaign where he raced in some tough fields and he likely needed the time to recover.

He has finished second in all three career starts second-up and punters might be attracted by his place odds of $2.80, but stick with the value play for the win.

Race 8. (17:20) Follow The Valley Handicap (1000m)

#14 – Wise Hero @ $5.50 – BET NOW

Wise Hero lost no admirers when finishing second behind Nasdex at Pakenham last start.

The four-year-old gelding was fresh up after seven months off the track and the below par performance was to be expected.

He has won three of his six career starts with two placings and his worst performance was when he finished 11th at Caulfield, but he was only three lengths behind the winner.

$5.50 is a nice price for punters.
