December 22, 2017 – Friday Horse Racing Tips For Cranbourne

Night racing continues this Friday with an eight-race card at Cranbourne and we have free tips, odds and form throughout.

Cranbourne is considered second fiddle to Moonee Valley, but it’s a great track for punters as it gives every runner a fair chance of winning.

There are some good win and each way bets across the card.

Cranbourne free tips & form

Race 1. (18:30) Maiden Plate (1600m)

#9 – Joie de Dream @ $3.60 – BET NOW

Joie de Dream looked good on debut when finishing third behind Tennessee Boss at Wangaratta and Lindsay Park should have him ready to fire here.

The three-year-old by Dream Ahead didn’t quite handle the soft conditions, but still managed to finish off stoutly.

Regan Bayliss takes over the riding duties here and he’s in good form.

Race 2. (19:00) Highview Accounting Maiden (1400m)

#7 – Tango Man @ $2.70 – BET NOW

Lindsay Park looks to have another good chance with Tango Man in what is a relatively poor maiden field.

The three-year-old finished sixth on debut at Bendigo, but was just 1.7 lengths behind the winner.

After settling midfield, the son of Manhattan Rain came with a good run in the straight and a similar effort should see him go close here.

Only two runners in this field have a placing next to their name, so don’t expect long odds for Tango Man.

Race 3. (19:30) Procon Developments Maiden Plate (1300m)

#8 – Dramatist – BET NOW

Robert Smerdon lines up Dramatist, which has run two solid races to date.

The three-year-old filly finished a close third on debut at Ballarat behind Goosey Fair before running fourth as the $2.40 favourite at Pakenham.

Not much chances here, but this field does look easier and it’s good to see Craig Williams take over the riding. He can make the difference and we’re expecting punters to come for this filly.

Race 4. (20:00) Debortoli Wines Maiden (1200m)

#6 – Amastryker @ $1.90 – BET NOW

It’s about time Amastryker crossed the line in first after four placings from her first five career starts.

Matt Laurie lines up the three-year-old filly which looked to have every chance at Mornington last start, but the eventual winner Mawzoona had the drop on it late.

Take nothing away from that performance as it was a good sign moving forward and her form prior included a quality placing behind Nature Strip and a close placing at Pakenham.

Cranbourne looks an ideal surface here and providing she gets a good run from barrier nine, she should be tough to beat.

Race 5. (20:30) BM64 Handicap (1200m)

#1 – Little Bita Spunk @ $2.40 – BET NOW

Little Bita Spunk scored a quality win at Sale last start and he could continue on with that form.

The Matthew Brown-trained five-year-old won by 1.25 lengths in a rating 64 graded race which is similar to what he will face on Friday night.

With consistent form behind the likes of Moshway and Princeton Spirit this season, the son of Magnus looks in good shape to continue winning and he gets a valable 1.5kg claimer in the saddle to aid his chances.

Race 6. (21:00) Core Protection Group Handicap (2080m)

#5 – Marching On @ $2.60 – BET NOW

With the confidence high after scoring last time out, Marching On could well score another win here.

The four-year-old was an outstanding 4.25-length winner at Kyneton and the rise in distance was the winning factor.

He stepped up to 1875m for the easy win and rising again in distance is going to help here. Despite the breeding suggest he won’t enjoy the staying distances, he’s clearly a better chance over 2000m and that makes him a big winning threat again.

Williams sticks with him and that’s always a great sign.

Race 7. (21:30) Browns Sawdust Handicap (1600m)

#7 – Cavalero @ $7.50 – BET NOW

The confidence is also up for Cavalero, which broke maiden grades in style last start.

Scoring a 3.25-length win, the Shea Eden-trained three-year-old finally performed at the level expected by punters.

He scored at odds of $1.95 and the win was never really in doubt. Jockey Nikita Beriman was always in control and he looked right at home over the mile.

His breeding suggests that he will enjoy running over this distance and we’re not expecting him to be at big odds in this.

The local runner looks one of the better bets of the night.

Race 8. (22:00) Multi Handicap (1400m)

#2 – Fabulonh @ $5.50 – BET NOW

Fabulonh is out of form, but dropping back in class is going to help and there’s some each way value around.

The Colin Scott-trained runner stuck on well for sixth at Moonee Valley last start in a higher grade and punters could see a quick form reversal here.

The son of Lonhro placed at his only start at Cranbourne and jockey Stephanie Thornton is riding extremely well for an apprentice at the moment.

The drop in weight will help and he could end the night with a bang.
