December 1, 2017 – Friday Horse Racing Tips For Moonee Valley & Canterbury

december 1 friday horse racing tips

Night racing is back this Friday with two quality meetings at Moonee Valley and Canterbury.

There are no major races on the Moonee Valley card, but there are some nice types engaged at Canterbury and they should provide good form guides for the start of summer.

Nothing beats night racing at this time of the year so get stuck in.

All odds are with Sportsbet – our No. 1 rated bookmaker. New signups can claim a $501* bonus bet with Sportsbet by clicking HERE.

Moonee Valley free tips & form

Race 1. (18:30) Australia Maiden (1600m)

#8 – Global Sanction @ $3.80 – BET NOW

The three-year-old filly has placed in two career starts to date and a win doesn’t look too far away.

The Graeme Begg-trained daughter of Sebring finished third on debut at Seymour before bettering that position at Pakenham last start.

Yet to show her true potential, Global Sanction looks a nice bet in the opening race of the night and punters are getting a good price.

Race 2. (19:00) Production Resource Group Handicap (1000m)

#5 – Wrapsody @ $2.90 – BET NOW

A real speedster for the Aaron Purcell stables, Wrapsody is dropping back in grade after running 10th in the Red Roses Stakes at Flemington on Oaks day.

The daughter of Hinchinbrook looked special prior to that when winning by six lengths at Echuca and a repeat of that performance takes her close here.

There has been good early support with bookmakers and we’re expecting that same support come race night.

Race 5. (20:30) 55 Second Challenge (955m)

#5 – Belwazi @ $4.40 – BET NOW

Belwazi hasn’t done much wrong in four starts to date, winning three and looking better than average last start at Moe.

The Jerome Hunter-trained four-year-old took a while to get to the races, but that patience has paid off and she has beaten some nice fields to date.

She ran a quick 1000m time at Corowa two starts back when clocking in 55.88 and she followed that up with a 1.8-length win last start.

Getting a 3kg claimer in the saddle is only going to help her chances and expect her to be ridden positively from the barriers.

Race 7. (21:30) K Line Australia Handicap (1200m)

#11 – You’ve Been Had @ $2.30 – BET NOW

Unbeaten from two starts, You’ve Been Had could mature into a nice sprinter this season.

The unassuming five-year-old took an age to get to the races, but he won by six lengths on debut at Mornington before repeating the dose by 3.25 lengths last start.

Both wins came on its home track which would have helped, but the ease of the wins have been impressive and this isn’t the strongest handicap field.

He opened at $2.35 and has firmed in a touch, so the early support is with the unbeaten gelding.

Race 8. (22:00) Sweeney Estate Agents Handicap (1200m)

#13 – Emraan @ $3.40 – BET NOW

Drifting in the market is Emraam, but the filly should attract plenty of interest come Friday.

The Lindsay Park-trained three-year-old finished seventh on debut as a $21 chance, but the money was on last start and she did the job well.

She scored by 2.5 lengths at Geelong over Champagne in Paris and that form line should hold up well at this level.

Jockey Cory Parish is back after riding Boom Time in the Japan Cup and he will be full of confidence.

Canterbury free tips and form

Race 2. (18:45) Book Summer Hospitality Maiden (1100m)

#7 – Patrina @ $3.60 – BET NOW

The three-year-old filly is on debut for Peter and Paul Snowden after showing some talent at the trials.

A daughter of Pierro, she won a trial at Randwick over 730m and there has been solid betting support since markets opened.

She opened much longer in the market at $6.50 before being smashed into $3.60. That’s a significant betting move for a debutante so it could pay to follow betting moves on the night.

Race 3. (19:15) Tabcorp Handicap (1100m)

#6 – Sugar Bella @ $2.70 – BET NOW

Sugar Bella looked a nice type for Kris Lees after winning her first two career starts.

That winning form took a hit last start at Rosehill when she took on a hot field, but that came in July of last year and she has since recorded a trial win.

It has been a long time between drinks, but the four-year-old possess plenty of speed and the majority of this field isn’t in the form of their lives.

Race 4. (19:45) Canterbury Nights Handicap (1100m)

#5 – Whypeeo @ $2.25 – BET NOW

The Brisbane invader is also nominated for Rosehill on Saturday, but he looks a better chance against this field.

Trained by Toby Edmonds, the three-year-old has won three of his four starts and he didn’t look tested when winning by three lengths at Doomben last start.

That’s some strong form and is better suited to Friday night grade than Saturday grade, but he looks a chance no matter where he lines up.

Expect a big betting move if he lines up here.

Race 6. (20:45) Australian Turf Club Handicap (1250m)

#4 – Serene Miss @ $2.35 – BET NOW

It’s hard not to like the performances of Serene Miss so far and we’re surprised that she has drifted slightly in the betting.

The smart Kris Lees-trained mare won by over three lengths at Scone before winning on this track last start by 1.8 lengths and she did it in style.

The 1.8-length win showed just how professional she can be and although there’s more depth to this field, she should shape up well.

Getting the inside draw with a claim should ensure she settles on the pace and is tough to run down in the straight.
